Urgent -- Water Compact may soon be voted upon by Ohio Senate
Contact your legislators asap to urge that they vote NO!
In a Friday, May 16, 2008 Plain Dealer column, reporter Michael Scott notes that Rep. Dolan's version of the Great Lakes Water Compact may soon be voted upon by the Ohio Senate before their June recess. If this version of the Compact passes, our private water rights will be imperiled. Please visit our Take Action page to learn how to contact your legislators NOW and urge them NOT to pass (ANY version) of the Great Lakes Water Compact (but, especially, Rep. Dolan's version).
Public forum with Ohio Senator Tim Grendell concerning the Great Lakes Water Compact
This forum was held on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 6:30 pm, in the West Geauga High School cafeteria in Chesterland. Senator Grendell presented an explanation of why the Water Compact proposed by Representative Matt Dolan threatens our private water rights, and he suggested ways in which we can protect our rights. The forum was followed by a Q&A session with Sen. Grendell. The event was well-attended, with over 200 concerned citizens present.
